Update

Just a little update from our house...I haven't been blogging as much lately, although I should have been! There have been plenty of things I could jot down on here!

Stu usually makes it home for supper and baths. Work has been busy for him as well as the work around here. We've had to start feeding the cattle already. We were hoping to wait until December 1st but the pastures just aren't holding out! He puts a bale or two out every other day. We will be selling calves next Tuesday, the 11th, in McLaughlin. We'll start off with just selling all of our share calves and just our steer calves. We will hold our heifers back and after the cows have their calves we will sell them, also. Basically we will be starting out with our heifers and 5 cows. It won't be very profitable the first year, but the second will be. And we will be going into it with no cattle payment! With the cattle market it won't matter if we get a high price for the calves, we just won't be making enough to get the cattle payment made. The life of a ranch family, I guess....

The girls are doing good, as well. Grace is one busy little girl! She's all over the place and into everything. There's never a dull moment when she's awake! Em is becoming quite the Miss Smarty Pants. She knows all and more than Mom and Dad. She's begun her Christmas list and I make sure that she's aware that it's OK if she doesn't get everything that's on that list...it's just nice being together with our families! Her & Grace butt heads quite often and there's definitely some jealousy coming from both sides, but all in all their both good kids and a lot of fun!

I'm doing good and stay busy with all my 'jobs'. Today was supposed to be Em's special day at home with Mommy so we took Grace to daycare and came home. We started laundry, played a computer game and she was helping me make some homemade bread. I found myself short on flour so we ran to the in-laws' and Em ended up staying and spending some time with her Papa & Nana. So I'm home alone...it's nice but I got a lot to do! It's not very often that I'm home alone and the weather outside is yucky enough that I'm stuck in the house. So I suppose I'd better get off this computer and get back at my 'to-do' list!
